1.0.8 Patch Notes

CW rebuff is nice

Still concerned about not being able to claim it due to recharge :frowning:

Beyond that it’s not really removing Priest if you can now have two slightly weaker Priests. As far as I’m concerned, talking to the dead and revival ought to go entirely; barring that, I feel that Physician will need to be toned down.

Be best to update the dev notes for CW too, since they imply only once. I was confused on first read 'til I saw this.

In general this is an exciting set of changes in terms of gameplay, but I’m a little worried about game balance when so much changes at once. I suspect there’ll have to be a number of tuning patches just to stabilize this one.

I feel that maybe physician should be unique with these changes.

They just added bleeding with the Cult leader and more poisoning by the Unseen. Those changes were made with the assumption there could be multiple Physicians in a game.

The less unique classes the better IMO. Unique classes are very risky for scum to claim.

I love this patch, every changes are really smart.

I like the changes of this patch. The changes range from interesting to excellent. =)

However, as others have pointed out I believe antagonist claims of Physician & Court Wizard will be hindered quite a bit by this. It was already not a good idea to claim Psychic or Noble, as well… After this patch, even more especially so.

Priest was my fav class :frowning:

Does the new CW ability tell you if it succeeds? (And can you use it on another CW?)

Lol supernuts is one of those “I just like to complain and I don’t read anything before stating my opinion” guys. Lmao.

Not really. Just had a long day at work.

Please remove revival entirely.
Give Physician its Exhume back, and remove that revival ASAP. Revival is simply broken.

to be fair, it does die in 3 days, and if it is needed, it can be prohibited from talking by normal means

I don’t like talking to the dead as a mechanic, it makes neutral killers impossible to play.

untrue

Kind of wonder if the priest removal will make it that if certain roles are killed early on, BD is very unlikely to win (e.g: Prince, Sheriffs / Paladins). Losing a powerful ability early on for BD (jailing and investigation) used to render the game basically a win for Unseen / Cult.

Any thoughts on whether it’d make sense to limit resurrection to the first 3 nights, and that it returns back to the priest definitively dying? Doing this forces the priest player to decide on trade offs between the ability of the resurrected player + conversion immunity, or in speaking to the dead. I think this idea would also prevent games swinging heavily to villains if an important BD role dies early.

I really like these changes; they all are very good choices.

Though…is there any chance of a reworked return of a Priest class?

My guess is most definitely, but I think this will be a good chance to test the meta without a Priest. Priest was my fav when I first started playing and I always claimed she was the best/ strongest role!

Yeah, true. Since the Priest skewed win results so much, with it removed it should be easier to rebalance everything.

I’m very interested in seeing how it plays out.

The early Prince RNG death might be a pain to deal with, but honestly I’ve seen more games where a MM get’s randomly murdered on day 3 I think.

If it comes to it, giving the Prince immunity like the Priest had wouldn’t be a terrible idea, even if it’s only for the first couple days.

Personally i think the problem is the Neutral killers. They create too much RNG. Critical BD roles dying to them n1 is big, just like a cult member dying to it N1 is huge.
