That doesn’t make sense.
You’re locking to into numbers. When you’re contracted, you’re contracted to the person, not the number.
I know that but it still doesn’t make sense. You are the Mercenary your contract is the Possessor. You don’t know that they are the Possessor. They leave their body and possess another person. How the fuck did you find that out?
Butler parties and occupies all people who visit. No clue who they are.
Physician heals someone who was attacked but has no clue who attacked nor does the healed person know either player.
Sometimes you sacrifice logic for game balance.
There is a logical explanation to both of them.
Butler: Mask party
Physician: Drugs
Also the Possessor can’t be the Merc’s target anyways.
Since when? It’s just inquisitor, knight, and prince.

If the possessor is paying the merc and suddenly stops and he dies. The merc is about to commit sucide when another guy offers the same amount. He gladly joins until he notices he died. And when he about to commit sucide another dude offered the same ammount. Ask no questions l

I must be blind because I don’t see a single mention of possessor not being a contract.
So overall, I think I dislike the merc changes. I understand why we’re letting him live, but I feel it will have negative impacts on the late game aspect. Allowing merc to live past his contact will end up wasting a day to execute a merc contracted to an unseen member, or unseen needing to use a night to kill the merc as he essentially functions as an outed member of that faction.
I believe we’ll see an increase in merc win rate plus an increase of merc swinging games purely because he exists.
