1.1.3 Patch Notes

Um… They must SEE them defeated, but doesn’t have to be alive at the end? I’m confused.

Hmm but the problem is Sellsword would become neutral king and able to switch sides and help bd, same goes for merc.

I hate the sheriff change, his new ability means nothing (who cares what unseen it is)

and missing scouts means that its harder to claim anything now.

Lets say im a sheiff who found an assasin.

  1. I can claim to king but if he doesn’t do anything i have to claim to court
  2. ok now im unseen (especially when the new cw will remove barrier)

paladin have smite to counter converting every outed person, now sheriff got nothing.

Well thats not helpful, possessor need to be able to kill king and mm.

Am I the only one who can’t join game queue right now?

I care.

Wait what?

So? People were doing that before CW rework that gave him a barrier. There always need to be a risk for outing themselves.

Scout was too strong anyway and Sheriff overall was “hit and miss” class if you got lucky you will find evils and opposite. At least now they’re not typical “Soft Counters”.

I made a suggestion similar to the new Scout and I find it less absolute and a little more useful. Scout was extremely strong as there was no fooling it and it guaranteed finding an Unseen when it went off. You could say Smite is similar, except it’s a night ability and is limited to 2. Scout is infinite and a day ability. Not to mention Cult’s who thing is converting a lot and spreading while Unseen is more focused. Finding a single convert hurts them far more than a Paladin getting a smite off.

The main issue with it is, when it goes off, it’ll usually be
“scout on 5”
“Unseen visited 5”
“5 is dead”
Since Assassin is such a key member of Unseen.

I like the new Merc/Sellsword. I’m a little iffy on their win condition as it seems they’re hardly neutrals anymore, but I like them more than what merc was last patch. We’ll wait and see. I do greatly enjoy Sellsword being able to claim Butler. That opens up claim space a bit more and throws more doubt on Butler claims.

I would say give Sellsword some method to find who is unseen. Maybe when he guards someone it tells him if they were unseen or not.

Otherwise, great patch. I’ll be excited to try it out after work.

Talking about Scout… Would Mastermind visits be hidden from scout until Night 4?

@Ellie can you pitch the concept behind the new Mercenary to me

I got it

Yeah why not making it Evil King instead?

Maybe because he can win with NK?

So think of the Sellsword and Mercenary as the same class like the old one. When the Merc was contracted to BD he was basically a member. When he was contracted to Unseen/Cult same thing. This just makes it so they have different ability’s tailored to each faction and makes it so that they are not screwed over by someone else being a bad player by default like the contract system did.

I think that’s the result for non-killing neutral class that Boslof is looking for, it’s not Drainer but I am not complaining

It’s not

Right but why would you not just hang all Merc claims

It would make more sense to just make it a new BD class tbh

Hell, I’d rather have Sellsword and no Merc. That’s more interesting.

Like I like the general direction but I’m not sold on the execution just yet

Sellsword does not have to claim merc. The fact that there is a merc just gives another claim he can make.

Also you don’t hang all merc claims because merc isn’t scum.

But it’s basically an upgraded Survivor, and the risk/reward of lynching it is extremely tilted towards making it the best option in almost all scenarios

Neither of them are survivor’s. They do not have to live. And Merc is worth letting live given that he has the best protective ability’s in the game.
