More interesting mechanics can be introduced without swinging the balance
realistically its not that important to know the lore, but just know crazy italians with a best friend thats kinda a ghost, and can do things from erase time, to literally peeling people apart with zippers
true, could make it two sets with 4 characters that would be in both. Make one 17 and one 16
Also games that start in like a month are less likely to be signed up for that much in advance, so I’m not too surprised that the Alice game hasn’t taken off like crazy…
However hosting smaller games is easier to manage and you don’t have wealths of experience like Alice already has.
But just do whatever you want. 
As player I experience big sized games as a nightmare, since … uhhh you have so many posts on one day like you normally had in a complete game. I can understand that it’s fun, if it’s an exception, but playing this kind of game often… oof.
