still a charter school.

Much likelier to have less stabbings IMO.

kiss me kate!

charter schools on the average are definitely worse than public schools

wait wtf

did the thread just disappear from the front page?

confused Arete noises

exception: florida

the charter schools near me all require good grades to get in(think that’s how it’s done everywhere) so less stabbings seem normal

different states implement charter schools differently and some are more competent about it than others

Minnesota is fairly competent about it

also charter schools (at least in Minnesota) are a subset of public schools

Pls tell me you mean “the entire country talked about it because its so rare and atrocious”

If you think charter schools there are consistently better you’re probably wrong

It’s a model that is proven to be significantly more likely to fail the children in it than public education

italy: needs sleep
italy’s mind: if you go to sleep you can’t get the cookie

I mean a couple of teenagers shoving each other against lockers isn’t going to make the national news

nah
in a country of 300m one high school fight isn’t even gonna make it on local news

*provided you mean with knives

it might be worse but its all a pile of shit here anyway

shrug

It’s not.

You probably haven’t even heard of the charter schools near you that aren’t super preppy, but I bet there are some, unless Texas is really strict on them

i would rant about how those incidents are used for political gain but that’s neither here nor there

in Minnesota they are literally not allowed to do that

which is funny because district schools are but I’m not the one writing laws

lol

i can probably find a few cases of it making the local news here

but significantly more often than not it was just swept under the rug

My school made international news for something arguably less harmful :eyes:

i might be thinking of magnet schools actually
