What do you know about Latin

I took latin for like 4 years in junior high but we didn’t do much besides watch the hercules movie so what do i know :man_shrugging:

So there are two commonly-used sets of Latin pronunciations, Classical (the correct one) and Ecclesiastical (the way they say it in churches). In Classical Latin, you say c’s as if they’re hard c’s (the kind used in ‘cat,’ or ‘canary,’ or what have you). I think Ecclesiastical is actually ‘ch’-c’s rather than soft c’s, but.

The Hercules movie I’m pretty sure isn’t even that accurate

IT’S NOT

Basically if you say ‘veni vidi vici’ as ‘way-nee wee-dee wee-kee’ you used the Classical pronunciation and if you say it as ‘ven-nee vee-dee vee-chee’ you used the Ecclesiastical one.

Oh i do remember using V’s as W’s

But that was the class for the kids who wanted an easy grade took(so like half of the class)
