Arete is excellence, striving to reach your full potential in everything you do.

I have been observing you for a while and I must admit: I am aware. The way you carry yourself, your passion for your cause and your perseverance - they are… admirable. I could even say that I look up to you, however that would be a hollow lie.
Instead, I want to turn your dedication and your determination to the one cause that you are worthy of. The cause of Corax and Mithras.

Limitless potential? Please, the Cult is able to achieve it with ease. You compare our versatile, devoted Ritualists to a simple Sage, and you dare to call them shells of their former selves? Your comparison falls flat the moment you look at a broader picture, the moment you see the aftermath.

A Sage will turn into an Assassin sooner or later, losing his beloved identity to stain his hands in blood, because there is no one else to do it - all because you are afraid to perform this dirty work for yourself.

A Ritualist, on the other hand, will learn ancient knowledge and open his mind to limitless mysteries, to great power. Should I fall, they might be the one to carry my legacy on, and they will have another standing behind them. The Cult will not die even if most of us have to perish. Can you say the same about the Unseen? Can you say the same about… yourself?

This life is filled with purpose and a goal, and I am ready to sacrifice myself for it. The power that I wield and my faith are enough, there is little else that I would wish for, though I admit, there is a small, certain thing that I long for.

But this is another quality of yours that I admire, Arete. You might be misguided, you might be lost - yet you are still trying to reach out to me, in the end. You are truly one of a kind - even with all of your flaws. Which is why I am ready to give you chances after chances, even as you reject them all. You will always be welcome by my side. Perhaps it will just take you some time to realize that this is the correct choice, but I am patient.

you are such a nerd

Also I need you to decipher this for me:

Eah ewcort

*completely limited
suffers even more than unseen by having no infinite use abilities

*eventually the cult leader will probably die and then you must still do the dirty work, but this time more culty

*The cult leader can’t sacrifice themselves
They sacrifice others

*Not enough to avoid getting drunk after one sip of wine

*Cult Leader can’t use observer abilities, only seeker can
This is misrepresentation of your talents, which is kinda fraudulent

*Of which is completely vague and unknown

*completely limited

Let’s be honest here, if you sacrifice a Ritualist you and your buddies basically have unlimited charges anyway.

*eventually the cult leader will probably die and then you must still do the dirty work, but this time more culty

Ah but the Cult Leader is the one who has been doing the dirty work all along. If you become a new one, that is your responsibility. CL doesn’t just sit in the shadows and do nothing, unlike the Mastermind.

*The cult leader can’t sacrifice themselves

Yet.

*Not enough to avoid getting drunk after one sip of wine

Let’s be honest though, that wine is good.

Also the obs pun is a throwback to the frequency with which I (used to) claim Observer in ToL :^)

i kinda ship corax and mithras tho :flushed:
