woah people not claiming d1 as neutral and fake claiming instead itā€™s almost like thatā€™s a good strategy sometimes.

Sometimes it is a good strategy, thatā€™s not what Iā€™m saying

want to know how bad of a claim knight is

I sometimes didnā€™t claim knight as knight and claimed a different non confirmable class
For example, letā€™s say everyone claimed and I claimed butler as a knight. Now out of all the claims, thereā€™s no protective claims since I switched my claim. evils will try attacking the prince or something since itā€™s ā€œsafeā€ and bam

fake claiming is an effective strategy even as blue dragon change my mind

(This was before all the tol changes I havenā€™t played in ages)

Iā€™ve done it a couple of times I claimed mystic as sheriff because there where 3 dead sheriffs and one was a poss jump (of course) it made it so prince didnā€™t wasteall his executes.

bd should fake claim sometimes and thatā€™s a fine thing to do aslong as you arenā€™t doing it to hurt your wincon.

I remember jailing a court wizard N1, trusted him, claimed my actual name and told him to claim prince tomorrow and to whisper me the claims. I told him then to swap himself with me in a row. Because, if I was to be attacked I would have zero protectives on me. The death would go to the court wizard, while all attacks to him will go to me with protectives.

Some people called it stupid

Others call it genius

Itā€™s really hard to convince people to FPS in a game with a time limit. You donā€™t have a lot of time to explain the proā€™s and conā€™s and I think I just told him to do it regardless of your beliefs on what can go wrong

Itā€™s super genius to the third eye.

True for the same reasons. Next

Technically true but practically false. But not for the reason you would think.

Prince is actually somewhat close to not being a viable prince claim, since losing the Prince is so problematic that outing is too dangerous if it can possibly be avoided.

Now the real reason why Knight needs to be a viable Knight claim is because short of being so powerful when hidden as to singlehandedly win the game itā€™s just better to claim your real class when pressured as BD. Why canā€™t we make a BD claim unviable for themselves like we can for neuts?

Not because making a BD whoā€™s best option is to fake claim is problematic, there are plenty of examples of that such as the Hunter in One night ultimate werewolf and the Seer in resistance. But instead because in throne of lies, making it so that a Knight claim is unviable for knight would mean that the Knight itself is negative utility, which is a balance and game health issue.

For neutrals, helping the BD isnā€™t part of their wincon so being anti-BD isnā€™t an issue like it is for the BD. Same obviously applies to scum.

Itā€™s 100% genus.

I won a game as a hunter because no one believed I was a hunter.

I sometimes claim Alchemist as Physician. This excludes the Prince and a confirmed Good King. It works.

I do too sometimes.

Still lets you do that aswell

Itā€™s great when in the EndGame evils whisper you, telling you who they are.

Once there was this situation:
I was BD. King was evil. There was one alch. There was a Reaper. The alch wanted Reaper to win, but didnā€™t know who they were. I whispered the alch, claiming I was the Reaper, meanwhile saying publicly the Reaper was Reaper. Together we voted the king, and alch killed the Reaper.
