Isn’t Neutral killer similar to this though in some situations. The entire presence of “neutral” will always cause this in my opinion.
Neutral killers need to kill off both factions, so they’re not as kingmaker-ish as survivors.
That’s why I think my rework does a lot of good for the alchemist. They have incentive to actually read who evils are attacking or kill and gain more night immunity.
If he has no defense he is open to being blackmailed
I actually do think this is the correct approach. However it is just taken too far
Like just have the current alchemist but with only 5 heals would already do wonders. But only 3 implemented like this and you basically have a ToS survivor with 2 vig shots

No? We didn’t like the suggestion because it completely negated the supporting others aspect of his kit due to the now lack of incentive.
With stoneskin and crimson potion as completely separate the use of crimson is always to get trust and keep helpful players alive.
When you are trying to curb unintended meta’s you need to be careful not to also curb the intended meta
