I mean original, before they got changed at all
They could be converted pre buff. They made them not convertible because soulcatcher was broken and they had no fix for it. That’s when this shit storm started. Game was fine before that whole patch.
Granted King shouldn’t have investigative ability - hmm…
Before they buffed it, priest was a rediculous swing. If I recall from the dev’s saying something along the lines of, whether or not a priest exists and manages to resurect someone before being killed/converted, more or less doubled BD’s winrate. IE that one factor of, does there happen to be a priest, and does that priest happen to not be converted, was waay larger of a factor in which side wins, than almost any other factors.
Honestly we need to come up with a non-investigative ability for the starting King.
Investigative ones just don’t end up working out.

That was my suggestion! (Did we both make the same suggestion?)
Then the king effectively has 4-shot night immunity. I’m OK for guards you send to other people not to be used if they don’t save anyone, but the king shouldn’t just be effectively night immune
Then I guess it needs to be changed so it only doesn’t expend a use if you send it to another player and they are not attacked. If you send it to your self, and are not attacked, it would expend a use
I could just lower the number of uses.
But king can still guard themselves with no drawback
If you are Neutral king you are doing that anyways. If are good or evil king then you also have Ally’s you need to protect.
