sure you can say nothing but it’s absolutely impossible to make it have zero influence on those with TMI in this regard
I personally am going to ban the usage of alternate accounts in all of my games
And tbh I think using alt accounts just to play differently shouldn’t be the main purpose of them
I wouldn’t use them here at least
well this means that imma ban alts in every game i host sadly
id be a bit wary letting a mod join an alt only game, unfortunately
but in every other case i trust the mods
If a host doesn’t want mods in their game because of alt angleshooting, that’s fine by me - I won’t join
We can’t stop it from influencing us completely - but we are not allowing the public discussion/speculation of alts while in a game
Moderators will always have the advantage of slight angleshooting whether they like it or not
Which is why a appeal system is really unusual in most communities
…
Why are alt accounts restricted under an appeal system btw
this is the problem
This sort of subconscious unstoppable influence will never be acceptable in any games i host
Also
If a Mod is the reviewer of said game that you want to in on as an alt
you can do a private application through them
you all do realize that there are various ways that mods can already gain slight unintentional influence on their reads (purely by accident, even without doing any of the things that would be possible if a mod decided to do so deliberately (which obviously none of us would do))
the syntax of this sentence is kind of but
i feel so strongly about this matter that im strongly considering actively abstaining from all games that permit alts which aren’t alt-only games
…
What exactly are these things, except for flagging posts
I’m aware of the reporting system but that shouldn’t be handled until the end of the game or another moderator should take action
that’s the thing
if cognizant, all of those things can be avoided, and it’s expected that you do avoid them
this cant
If a Mod is the host/reviewer of the setup you want to join, you can do a private app through them. The application questions are stated in OP
That way, if a non host/reviewer mod joins, they will not know your identity
if it’s a possibility that any player in a game could have TMI on the identity of an in-game alt, I will not be a part of it.
Wouldn’t it just be best to have public alternate accounts which you can access through the host
Ect. accounts Orange, Pink and Purple are created by Moderators
Moderators entrust these accounts with passwords to hosts whom reserve them for a game
Hosts then pass those accounts onto users
For the record, im not trying to fight this policy, just stating my personal stance and decision regarding it.
Apologies if this disappoints anyone.
This stops Moderator knowledge of who has who’s account while also keeping track of who is using what account through the host
i think some people enjoy roleplaying as some alt flavours
dont think that’s worth the cost, though
(roleplaying as an alt flavour is also pure waste in-game)
