Imo it’s going against the (I’m sorry) spirit of claimvigs to not letting them kill. What I mean is that they didn’t technically claim, but they might as well did.

Thats why they can kill since otherwise everyone would do that and its still claiming without being punished, thats why claimvigs can kill with posts like that
So it was out of spirit for doing that as a player to avoid claimvigs so there is a rule in place where if the claimvig shows enough evidence like them claiming everything but a class they can kill it.
So what would you suggest a rule that more strictly defines angleshooting?
Also, should hosts be able to make minor adjustments to the rules during a game?
Tbh, any mod worth their weight in salt would not allow stupid shit like that double negative claim go through. The questions regarding technicalities here are moot as moderators know exactly what you are trying to do with those sorts of claims.
At the end of the day this is the conclusions:
Angleshooting bad
Mods and Hosts aint corrupt
Angleshooting should be added into the the global rules, so that its clearly outlined for all players
Done.
I realize this is sort of incongruous with my general ‘rules should be clearly defined’ stance but if the problem with the rules is gamebreaking enough then I’d say yes.
Gamebreaking rules should be caught before the game even begins, tbh.
Is that why for over a month you didn’t allow the reaper to become PK? (Classcard edit delays wtf)
as far as i can tell from reading this thread, she’s still upset she got called out by solic and wants clearer rules or smth
Not really, I’m not upset about being warned, I’m just upset because I seen others warned for the same. If I do a mistake, call me out for it, np, I’m human too.
Basically the gist of this thread is:
our hosts have different opinions about what is angleshooting and what not. Some see harmless cases of OGI already as angleshooting, while some others are using angleshooting mostly as fallback, if people blatantly do stuff which should 100% against the rules, but wasn’t stated so.
In the end it matters… when people get warned in some games for angleshooting for the slightest form of OGI. I’m in the deep believe angleshooting should only lead to a replace/modkill if it had clearly intent or is blatant cheating. It’s complicated for players, when the hosts use the same rule for different stuff, but eh.
Clarification is the answer here, not scrapping the rule entirely.
The point here is “really”. I think it is still minimally affecting gamestate. Splitting hairs, yes. Still technically angleshooting, I’d say yes. Would I realistically have any penalties for doing exactly this in my games. No. I don’t think our stances are so wholly different when I quoted your MU definition for angleshooting and was like yeah. This is it. Completely agree with how it was portrayed there and also how it should be portrayed.
Depends on the exact wording of the claimvig
They are obvious angleshooting. A good example for this thread.
I’m going to infer you’re talking about Tele again as I don’t think as a host I’ve warned someone for angleshooting yet. You know that ToL itself also views that kind of play in a bad light? That’s the reason that system messages cannot be copy pasted. (I presume it’s still like that) Because it allows players to clear them for reasons that they shouldn’t be cleared for in spirit of the game. “I know the exact feedback down to the letter for this and that and I produced it so fast that the only way it could have been true is that I truly got that feedback”. Good luck faking that as an evil. I have been guilty of doing this too in poker mafia 3 and it led to me being cleared, although I was “forced” to do it there. Live and learn, so yeah I’ll call it out when I see it now and I will strive to not do it myself anymore.
We are against metagaming in ToL, but we have no rules against it, unless it’s cheating.
If you are facing metagaming, you will not be punished if you are answering the metagame question on purpose (to be true, it’s quite a fun thing… if a Mystic links you and asks you to describe your room, you can have fun to describe him the unseen basement… or the reaper throne… as BD ^^)
What about promiscuity part of her design?
Please don’t necrobump threads for no reason ^^
I thought I had something to contribute and I did
