Angleshooting in Forum Games

What if what I think is good manners to me is what you consider to be bad manners to you?

So, if the player comes into the game, willingly knowing that they will abuse a game from a certain angle, that negatively affects others and the one who hosts it, they shouldn’t be punished, cause the host didnt say anything about it?

That’s actually such a bad line of thinking

in every game, there are general rules are in place to make sure every game is fair and kept in check. if someone breaks that they should be punished.

Angleshooting hurts the integrity of a FM game, and is punishable to the hosts discretion

Depends

if you explain to why, then sure

if you say No u, then I’m not gonna listen to you

Mafia is a game that is good for any party as long as the rules are explained clearly. :^)

So you blame the hosts’ lack of foresight for not expecting something that wouldn’t be obvious enough to notice, but you’re also restricting them from being able to patch the holes here.

Again, shit like this subjective.

But if it breaks a games integrity and Fair play between players, yes the player willingly doing so should get punished for it, cause they are negatively impacting a game

you realize harassment isn’t like, ok

How is using a strategy abuse? A strategy is intended to gain an advantage. That is not abuse at all.

Exactly why angleshooting needs replaced. Effective immediately preferably. It’ll destroying forum integrity. Not just the game.

It is a global rule that tries to prevent breaking of integrity by allowing the host opinionated judgement over a global rule.
Tell me how that is not an open door for abusion of the ENTIRE forum games category?
I’d rather lock the door. Not sure about yourself.

Yes I do. I blame the host and anyone responsible. If the angleshooting accusation was that much of a problem then you either let the game finish and edit it or you reroll and edit it. Rehost the setup.

That’s what he was saying. He was approving of the fact that people will get revenge instead of retribution.
Revenge (abusion of angleshooting rule on host’s part) > retribution (wisdom of the mod).
Glad we agree on that.

If you really don’t want to use a blacklist, make them blacklist you

i believe angleshooting should be blanket banned, but let the host have discretion when it comes to punishment depending on the severity

i have three/four people on my personal blacklist that i will WoTM out

And I’m saying that we can’t do anything about it unless angleshooting has something done about it as it’s currently a global opinionated rule.
The host is never wrong when it comes to punishing with angleshooting as far as the system is concerned. Which means people who abuse it are not wrong and allows victimblaming. Goodbye the victim, here comes corrupt hosts.

blanket ban+hosts having discretion in punishment is my stance

thing is if the host is doing shady shit, call the shady shit out

Actually, I agree with this. We should make a list of things that would fall under angleshooting* and after the game, if we need to amend the list, we should be able to.

Why does that matter if they’re always going to be right? That’s why it’s a problem it is opinionated.
There is nothing shady. The solution to it is to remove the rule.
And currently the thought process is reactive rather than proactive.

Well of course. ASing is bad. But we need to determine what is ASing.

Angleshooting is just a term used by the host to cover mistakes and victimblame.
The definition isn’t even defined. We only know it’s against the rules.

Pretty much this

If the host is doing fucked up shit, call them out. If they dont listen or change, then you can leave, and not play a game they host, and you can talk to the mods team, and they can look at the hosts behavior.
