Board Game discussion thread v2

why would that not be allowed

then meet at someone’s house idk

and its catholic school so they do care

especially the freshman

thats what we do

but we cant play at lunch

which is sad

i think it actually stems from a ban on pokemon cards of all things

which is dumb

there’s lots of other good shorter stuff you can play during lunch at high school
TCG’s, roll for the galaxy, sagrada, avalon, splendor, and codenames are some that come to mind

in any case if you literally just Google ‘nerdiest colleges’ my school is consistently listed and yours isn’t

we can debate whether the internet is a reliable authority but you’re also just objectively wrong

imagine being able to play Avalon in less than an hour

???

i disagree but eh
whoever writes those articles does not use the proper definition of nerd

what do you see as the ‘proper’ definition of nerd

one that is based in stem

then you’re the one using nonstandard definitions

let’s agree to disagree

only if you agree to stop slandering my school

long story

i think it dates back to around 2010s

Kinda school legend

basically

2 nerds got into a fight over their pokeymans
and ever since at the beginning of each year we are reminded that all “trading card games and similar are not allowed on campus”

fine, sorry
it just kinds of annoys me that the only good school in my city doesn’t offer a program in my field

let me settle this

you are both nerds

well that doesn’t sound like a ban on short non-TCG board / card games
there are lots of those that i could recommend

that sounds entirely orthogonal to the question of whether we count as Real Nerds
