I’m usually not able to wrangle people together to play stuff

I am able to get people to queue en masse for hearthstone battlegrounds to try (and fail) to get a 8p local game going

So I’m not sure that that’s the problem

truth or dare phone app

or bust

I know my house (basically a subset of the dorm) has a board game night every weekend

like to be fair I did write ‘PUT ME WITH THE NERDS PLEASE’ on my housing form in the write-in section but

and when that sort of established event is a thing it’s a lot easier for it to, well, happen

im going to specifically request “no nerds” for my housing

especially if i get into a nerd college

like an ivy leauge school

then i gotta for sure request no future math or science majors

most of the Ivies aren’t even nerd schools

just because they have somewhat disproportionate concentrations of smart people doesn’t mean they have particularly large quantities of nerds

…see the problem is I have a nearly-perfect way of explaining the distinction but literally no one else on the forum will get the reference

my dad had a friend who went to harvard

and he said his friend said it had a bunch of smartasses/nerds

although it might just be my parents trying to discourage me going to college in the northeast

the fact that they all suck at engineering (and that Arete’s school doesn’t even offer engineering) should inform you they’re not nerd schools
