You are technically right, and eevee pointed out that change was also not technically during the game (it was, like, minutes before)
However, I retain my right to sub out of a game when a change occurs to the setup that makes it something I no longer want to play
I’m happy that didn’t hamstring the experience and that you found a quality replacement quickly 
woulda needed to sub out anyways but not necessarily relevant
