Chloe fan club (but only FM related) (formerly initiative to improve townplay thread) šŸ˜¹

Volume tells only work for some people, tho.

Which is a legit wolf strategy. Here villagers also unwittingly drown threads without realizing how much it harms the townā€™s wincon.

You were a wolf that game. I was just giving an example on what kind of posts should go to the cookie thread instead of the main thread.

If youā€™re blowing past that on games half the size in less time then yes I can see how that would be an issue

How many days did VCFM last?

VCFM was a gem. Orange and FK were scary.

Was just checking, I think like 5

I literally learned the wrong lesson, when I was still playing
I was normal posting back in my old days, and got mislynched at the first opportunity in each game
Then I rolled scum, instinctively hyperposted to defend myself and to stay alive, and it worked
Then I started hyperposting as town as well, and voila, I didnā€™t get mislynched so fast anymore

but me having a big postcount is largely NAI for me, although my worst offending game was a wolf game of mine

and having useless posts is also NAI for me

hell i was gonna roleplay as a cat for all of D1 in anime FM if our flavors werent in the OP

although i had a lot of reckless plans that game since i was an IC, but thats irrelevant

katze try to improve because katze does not like reading 10000 post threads either (or isoing themselves)

im like 90% serious that i intend on being a lowposter in my next game but i donā€™t know how well thatā€™ll actually go

RM4 lasted only three days and despite also having like half the players there the post count was roughly the same.

Ye too much

Iā€™m taking the bullet here
Hyperposting and memeing as town might be not efficient for town overall
but makes the game less stressful
People townread you for it

Yes I was someone who literally hated memes ingame in my first half year here (outside of memes which got specifically created for that game), I got converted.

Generally speaking, this is true (this doesnā€™t work on good wolves). But massive postcounts still distract town from finding those wolves, regardless of how many times they posted.

Itā€™s by far the most important reason, and the contrast between the percentage of town wins in the past vs town wins now is notable. What changed during that time, aside from the players? The number of posts.

I think the connection is there.

Speaking of which, DRFM would also have been a wolf stomp and that game had almost 20k posts at EoD 2. I realize that it was a mash, but still.

On the contrary, and funnily enough, even on MU, town has done better in mashes when the postcount was lower. I think that also says something.

There is too much evidence for this, across multiple games, even offsite.

I still remember my 1st game here. I didnā€™t post much as I was new and didnā€™t have much self confidence.

And considering how easy it is to fix (just think before posting 4head), I think it should be underlined, bolded, and imprinted in everyoneā€™s brains.

Of course, reading people as scum for bad reasons, etc., etc., those things matter too. But postcount is the biggest thing. And it affects literally every player in the game, whether they realize it or not.

Thing is you shouldnā€™t be trying to get townread as town.

Itā€™s a net negative for the entire village and itā€™s better just to get townread by acting vnormally.

I got told all the time that Iā€™m at fault when Iā€™m lynched
That your most important thing as town is to make sure you donā€™t get mislynched
Isnā€™t that what you and Arete were preaching?

I donā€™t doubt it.

A) Wolves managed to get half the seats on the student council from the get-go.

B) Villagers werenā€™t submitting Hope/Despair lists so the wolves were literally controlling much of the mechanics related to it.

Yes, but not at the cost of making the game harder to read.

There is posting so much and looking town, yet clogging the thread.
Then there is posting enough as village without giving everyone else a headache trying to sort out information in the thread.

Like Alice mentioned, RM was a wolf stomp. Tons of posts.

What games did town win? Allow me to check.

Hell in a Cell. Reasonable number of posts. (Only 3k, and the game went to final 3.)
They would probably win SFoL 61 (not 61.5, that game is currently ongoing and cannot be used as a point of reference). They had a winning PoE on day 2. Postcount? 5k. Took 5k posts to establish a winning PoE across 2 days. Not too low, but not unreasonably high.
They won Randomizer (scum conceded). While the wolves did concede for mech reasons (the setup was townsided), town still had pretty good reads (they found each other easily) and was headed in the right direction (NK lynch day 2). Postcount? 5.9k across three days. Still a bit large, but more reasonable than, say, 10k.
Mafia did win NUF FM, but only one wolf stayed alive, so town still did a substantially better job than usual. Postcount? 4.2k throughout the entire game.
Town won FoL 27, which had a massive 16.7k of posts, but they only managed to win because of mechanics and one correct reads-based lynch. Reads-wise, they did terribly throughout the game.
And of course, town won JK9. 5.4k posts across the whole game (3 days iirc). Somewhat reasonable.

Now letā€™s take the mafia wins.

ToS2. 9.1k posts. Notably higher than the town wins.
Ritual Mafia. 15k posts. Even greater difference.
Insurgency. 14.1k. It was a mash, but in comparison to the mashes where town won (around 9k - NDFM and Fates), thereā€™s still a notable difference.

Itā€™s there, itā€™s fairly consistent, and itā€™s going to keep happening if we donā€™t realize it and do something about it.
