I enjoy the Physician the way it is right now and I would say it’s in a good spot both balance and gameplay-wise.
I am aware that some people find it boring but I think that the issue is with Physician’s abilities, not the class idea. Adding another day ability could make it more engaging, but I do not think that we should replace Physician as a whole.
Chronomancer could be a curious standalone class, but I feel like BD would be forced to turn to Alchemists for reliable healing if this was implemented. A lot of people already do not enjoy the idea of relying on Neutrals, this could possibly make it worse.
Besides, this wouldn’t be interactive to the Cult/Unseen players. You cannot know if someone you bled was Warped (unless they decide to out it, provided there’s a feedback). That could force evils to waste multiple charges of poison/bleeding.
This would also strip yet another claim from Evil factions as well, since right now you can just ask if your bled target was healed and then claim that heal for yourself. It would be almost impossible to fake Time Warp (as you do not know if the player was Warped at all), especially on demand.
Also having your own Bleed/Poison redirected to yourself as a Cult Leader/Assassin/Mastermind would be quite an unpleasant experience and Distort Reality has unlimited charges as well. So it could possibly happen quite often, which isn’t good.
Why are we nerfing CL and assassin to replace physician though?

If so, then I’d definitely support replacing phys. Personally I like it anyway, but a lot of people seem to think it’s not that engaging. Having the ability to move kills and delay your own death is a lot more interesting, and I imagine the majority of people would find Chronomancer more engaging to play.
I imagine they’d just shift some of scum’s killing power away from Bleed/Poison and towards night kills.
Why can’t it be added alongside Physician? With the appropriate changes to the class distribution system to maintain balance, I think you would find a lot less complaints about Physician. I would be way less bored with a Physician -> Chronomancer match as opposed to a Physician -> Physician match.

I’ve always liked the class (it might be because I made it) but I don’t think Physician is bad enough to consitute it REPALCING Phys rather than existing alongside it.
mind you Phys does have some key balance issues (the huge amount of notifactions compared to what it does) but if you remove them… then there will be NOTHING but people complaining about how unfun Phys is. Replacing Phys should be a last resort.
Same. Just add more counters against bleed/poison and reduce then chance of Physicians spawning. This will reduce complaints against the class.

You always add Exhume as a day ability back if people want a more engaging Phys.

The main issue is that Physicians are too damn common and the lack of variety is boring.
Sheriff is common too, but you don’t see people complaining about it.
Healers are near guaranteed increasing the rate of Physician by a lot. The complaints might stem from getting the class more often than others as well.
Nah, imo the main issue is that people aren’t playing Phys properly and having less fun because of that
