Quick correction:
ALL vampires, whether they siphon or not, will lose 1 mana at sunrise. You are a vampire as soon as someone turns you into one, but do not KNOW about it until the following night.
This means that a person will not generate mana during the day between the night they turn and the night they learn of their vampiness.
Quick point: If you whisper, please don’t name the whisper “Church V Coven” or anything that looks like that.
It would really help me pick out the individual feedback from among the nightmare of whisper networks.

The targeted vampire would die from loss of mana unless he also successfully siphoned someone.
if by using “vampire” as a verb you meant casting a bloodthirst curse, then the caster becomes a witch, but will be informed that his action failed. The vampire continues to slowly drip mana to the witch that turned him.
