This is definitely not the solution.
And actually, town used the vig less optimally.
Optimal play is to have every town member abstain and turn the DVC Energy Vig into a normal infinite vig.

The solution is to make it available for everyone, imagine if town play optimally then, even more OP. If you are gonna have that kind of dead interaction where dead townies can kill scum, then let us scum have the chance to manipulate that too.

Not when you have 0 clue who the vig is. They could be a heroshooter for all you know

4 villagers working together in a ā€˜masonryā€™ will net more wolf pelts than the vig working alone

If we wanted to play optimally we would have shot the counterwagon every night, but abstaining and giving the vig the choice is not the correct move imo

thatā€™s why you donā€™t vote with the dvc vig
you could target the actual vig, whom has a greencheck on themself
which is more info DVC has (presumably)

Ive run a similar mechanic, i called it spirit judge.

The dead decided the kill during the day before the flip, they didnt know who the vig was and the vig was unaware that the kill was decided by the dead, and all dead could vote, not just town.

Thatā€™s what osie also suggested, but if I remember correctly, at the time I thought that scum voting wouldnā€™t affect anything and didnā€™t bother to change the mechanic.

I could easily have been wrong, so I wonā€™t defend the decision.

I actually have to agree with this tbh, I was thinking if both scum and town can vote on it then it actually kind of hurts the town for yeeting too many wolves but gives a helping hand when they yeet too many villagers (as long as they have good reads)

All dead players can vote, but wolf votes count for more than one.
Maybe two or three.
