[Class Suggestion] Kidnapper (Neutral Special)

Kidnapper - Neutral Special

Passive - Night immune once

Day ability - Jail your target. If the Prince selects the same person your jail will fail. If you jail the Prince his jail will fail. If he jails you your jail will fail. If you both jail each other then your jail will fail. (Otherwise jail works just like the Prince’s

Night ability 1 (Execute): Execute your prisoner - 3

Night ability 2 (Royal Mask): Have your jail chat appear as Prince for the rest of the night (normally says kidnapper) - infinite

Goal. Survive and have the BD lose

I think a nice spin on this would be:

  1. name it false prince
  2. make it say (normally) the false prince’s first name instead of just “false prince”
  3. make one of the night abilities (especially #2) have limited uses, as why wouldnt someone use the royal mask if its infinite?
  4. if it has infinite kills, make it a Neutral Killing, this just really isnt a Special-type role (special-types are usually leaders)

This is a very bad suggestions, not only that you can claim prince, and it is special (i think) and it appears in every game (i think). This is also OP af

welcome to here tho.

  1. Ok

  2. What?

  3. Since you can only use 1 night ability per night that means that making yourself look like Prince means you can’t execute.

  4. Jailing fits every type of ability. What would you call that if not special? (Plus I didn’t want to give it an NK goal)

It’s still bad, because i think prince is a bd role, and if it is in another faction it makes the game unbalanced.

I never said it appears is every game. It being special does not make it more powerful. And you still can’t claim Prince. If you do the real Prince will kill you like anyone else claiming Prince. The fast that you can do the same to him is irrelevant and most evils can

this role could easily be bad because you could just kill everyone with the execute. this is a buffed prince

Ah but you don’t want to kill your Ally’s do you? Also I make execute limited use

Yeah. Just like the prince

Prince is killer, no reason for this not to also be killer imo. Personally I like this but think it needs default neutral killer goal.

well i don’t like this idea bye

The goal is deliberate. I want it to have roles it doesn’t want dead. Also I don’t think Prince should be killer either

Now that executes are limited that changes my previous statement. I think it could work well as a neutral killer with the infinite exes though. Prince is killer for a reason, so that Princess has a reason to suspect them potentially. But, I feel like if the goal of this class is just to see BD lose (and survive but still) it may as well be some special appearance Unseen.

The point is that he wants to kill everyone BUT the evils. But since the evils are more likely to try to act good it won’t be very easy to tell friend from foe. The fact that you can reveal that you aren’t Prince doesn’t help much as someone who is good will just act like they were converted or something. It still makes an interesting dynamic of if the prisoner can trust the “Prince” and if they are good rather than just faking it.

Also I really think the Prince should be special

But why? As i said having him be a killer makes for interesting scenarios with the Princess, having to consider whether revealing their killer/offensive find will reveal the Prince. A Special/Investigative result is basically left alone because it’s very bad to out an investigative early on, so I think it would take away from the Princess by changing his type.

As for the princesses thing. They tend to out Special/Invest results because they could be MM/CL. The jail ability: roleblockes (offensive) let’s you talk to them (social) Gives them night immunity (support) and can kill them (killer). That’s every class type expect invest and wildcard. Prince should be special. Also why talk about that here? Does it really matter that much what the Prince is for this?

Somewhat yes, if your reasoning for this class being Special type is due to also wanting the Prince to be Special type. But in the end, I just personally don’t like “win with anyone but the good guys” classes in social deduction games, because they don’t play well in my experience and are more frustrating than anything. But, that’s just like my opinion

That’s an unpopular opinion believe it or not. Roles like ToS Witch are incredibly popular and fun to play. Since you are evil but other evils don’t know you it means you first need to find your Ally’s. These roles tend to be more powerful than the average evil (other than NK) and this the evils REALLY want to find them ASAP.
