[Class Suggestion] Knight 2.0

And lead to 2 confirmed BD at once? No. Plus what if the knight is converted?

Reset, does it need to be more?

The Dead person will only talk with the knight, not with dead chat. Knight will appear under “Knight”

I would like to see a knight not sick when guarding since knights are suppose to be elite. At the very least make it a chance to live or die like a real life battle. Also I would like to see knight not die from CS but instead lose CS like prince does.

If you think that you are getting suspect, then Cold Steel the most likely evil and indicate a CS in your death note. If you erroneously get a BD, then at least you stopped a mislynch. If you caught an Unseen/Cult people will believe your knight claims more.

This play is exactly my point. I don’t want to have to kill myself just to prove that someone else is not evil. I don’t think Knight is fun because he dies too easily, gets converted too easily, Knight claim is too suspicious, and people just execute them.

Just die and start a new game.

Just give the Knight a Retribution esc passive! Either just give him retribution like what the hunter has or:

Passive: Alert - If you are killed at night you will kill your attacker (but still die)

This encourages the knight to be more aggressive in the day and to take more risks that get attention of others.

Note: This passive does not pierce night immunity

Knight is a thankless class that nobody wants to play, but is totally necessary. Without Knight there is no stopping Unseen to kill a sheriff (Other than alch or phys) and even if they are healed there is no retribution for the assassin other than a wasted night.

Don’t be shocked if your knight claim consists of guarding the king for 5 nights if you die

Yeah I don’t guard king night 1 ever, because it’s a terrible play. You don’t know if there is a Possessor, and if there is one and he chooses to possess some random Bd to attack the King on your guard, you’ve lost 2 Bd right off the bat. Let the healers heal King n1 while he does a check.

Knight to me is bad because even if you guard a Sheriff/Paladin who just outed himself to get an evil player executed, you can’t prevent them from being converted with Sacrifice, and you have no idea if they were on the night of your watch, or any night thereafter. If Knight has the Patrol ability I proposed (it would likely have limited uses), you could target the Sheriff that just outed himself the night following his lead to an execution. He gets converted that night, but you guard him because he was Bd when the night began. Then you target him again the next night, and you will then attack him as he is now detected as Unseen.

I’d be ok with like a 3 use guard ability that stops conversion/possession too. That sounds neat

You completely missed my point!

Patrol sounds way OP. It is basically both of the king’s night abilities combined into one, made better and smarter, and upgraded with an attack evil/neut feature.

I think knight is mostly fine. It is not a late game class and should not be played as such. I think one change that can address the “unfun to die so early” aspect is to make it so that knights that are rezzed by physicians are more powerful than other DKs. For example, the DK that was a knight might have extra charges of its abilities or maybe can keep CSing until it targets a BD.

It’s definitely a powerful ability. It would be OP if it had infinite uses for sure. Limiting the number of uses is the easiest way to balance it. Maybe only 2, or up to 4 uses at most would probably be sufficient.

Here’s the thing. When you kill an evil in ToS, its one less evil. That is not true in ToL. Half of evils are night immune in the first place. And, if you do find one, they can just make more. If they made more, you only speeded the game by making effectively an extra kill, which is actually good for the evils (less time for invest).

I know about that. This is why it works as a passive rather than a day ability or something. If that wasn’t true it would make the ability OP for the Knight.

I updated the post with a few more details and better formatting.

yes this is logic

no issues or fallacies at all

like wut

Actually, this would fix Physician’s DK problem

You know, the part where Phys>Knight
