But seeing their night chat is investigative, not social.
Using that logic, snoop is also an investigative ability. And RNG is still bad, find something else to replace it.
No shit?
As for your RNG edit, sure, suggest something. The issue is, itâs only anonymous if itâs random. If itâs not anonymous, itâs Psychic.
Or, hell, just add every other aspect and buff it later. I donât really care.
Donât let this hear night chat. That makes it too easy to find cult/unseen.
I think the ability list is well suited to replace Psychic. I feel Psychic Mind Link is too similar to Imprison, but confessions is a great substitute. The confessions distinguish it, and I donât think the class would be good without it, even if it is weaker than Psychic.
I am also down to replace Confessions if somebody comes up with something of a relatively similar power that I like
What if confessions is random, but letâs you know the class of the person thatâs talking to you?
Possibly a bad idea that I havenât thought through. Iâm not worried about it outing the NK because theyâre usually discovered pretty quickly.
Youâd have to change abilities that interact with it though.
Where I find that risky is outing the existance of a servant, marshall etc⌠Maybe faction could be an option though. IE BD/unseen/neutral. That way you could allow the guy to at least know he isnât being driven on a direct bogus accusation.
Thatâs fair.
Snoop and the listening to night chats are actually both social abilities. They depend on the player, not the class or their actions
Here's a few possible passives to replace it:
Recognition(name isn't final)
-
Chats will never be anonymous to you
-
This means that you will know who the prince and psychic are when they anonymously speak
Call the dead
Can talk to the dead at night
Gravedigger
Can hear the dead at night
Itâs too weak if it is anonymous though, unless the entire class is based around it(which it isnât, but I would be fine with the RNG if it was). Plus it also doesnât fit the theme of your priest, which is hearing whispers. Maybe give the confessions ability to another class and make it based off of that?
Exactly. Even without the RNG, itâs still similar to psychic.
Not really. If you use it on a suspected cult/unseen, then other players probably suspect them to, which means that theyâll get killed soon. And if they use the ability randomly, it will be wasteful since it only has 2 uses and not a lot of players have night chats.
Call the Dead is the same Psychic ability. Gravedigger is a weaker version of that. Recognition gives you instant knowledge of Prince and Psychic, so if you are Heretic you know who to kill.
As for night chat, if you hear night chat, there is 3 possibilities: Psychic, Prince, or evil. No evil in their right mind claims Prince, and Psychic is uncommon claim. If they claim anything besides Prince/Psychic/Linked/Jailed, you know they are evil. If you are Heretic, itâs just find the Prince/Psychic, which isnât as useful as Marshalâs probe.
Basically, none of this works.
Other way around. Priest call the dead came first.
True.
Thatâs the whole point
Well yeah, priest did come first.
Why have a weaker version of Psychicâs ability?
Also gives you knowledge of the cult/unseen as well. Even if you hear âClass?â itâs an indication it isnât evil (although I suppose this could turn into meta game), but still. I also feel like nothing should intrude on Evil privacy, or the Princeâs for that matter.
Recognition only gives you the names of people in chats you are already in. Meaning it can only find the Prince, Psychic and any similar classes in any SFoL games.
This isnât for SFoL, itâs for ToL.
Also, I dislike the idea of Recognition as a passive. It makes finding Prince way too easy.
The reason I say that is because it means it is expandable for future updates. Much like how right now the Sorcerers magic cloak only effects 2 Abilityâs but has the potential to effect more in the future.
There is nothing wrong with 2 classes having the same ability.
Gravedigger is for if Call The Dead is too powerful.
Thatâs the point.
They could also be jailed or linked.
Youâre forgetting that it only has 2 uses. If you use it randomly, then you have a high chance of it being useless. If you use on a suspicious person, then thatâs their fault as other people probably realize that they could be evil.
Confessions is also weaker. Itâs only advantage is allowing evils to give info without revealing themselves.
Then what else would work? Confessions would be fine if the entire class was based around it, which this isnât.
I objected to confessions for that as well.
Actually just linked. Jail prevents visits
