It’s extremely easy for a fake Interrogator to “Truth Serum” one of his own Unseen. So even if a real Interrogator yolo confirms himself D2, he won’t be believed, and if he is, he will become nothing more than a citizen that gets converted at some point.
That’s more confirmable than Hunter.
The point is that if you are accused and can’t truth serum someone then you are confirmed scum. And if you can serum a confirmed BD (or even the accuser) then you can shut down any accusation on you.

That sort of meta is self-limiting though. Evils will demand every outed Interrogator to confirm himself immediately, until real Interrogators simply refuse to blow their single-use ability on obvious baits and it won’t be so suspicious for real Interrogators to refuse to do it anymore.

Yeah, but a real Interrogator will still be less likely to agree to that than a Noble would with force vote, for example. And if you do actually do it, you become a citizen and ripe for conversion.
You both have good points but I still think, because of what I explained, that this class is still a decent fake claim. At least better than Noble and Mystic.
Also remember. We are not asking you to rework or remove the ability. I just think the blackmailer should have it too in order to reduce the odds of it being used like that

Yes I know. But this class can be confirmed during the day (less so now but BMer isn’t relevant for a fake claim) while the Hunter can only be confirmed at night. That outweighs being non-unique by far
But if two cult collaborate to confirm one of themselves, it actually confirms both (the fake visits of one, and the fake interrogator claim of the other)
so there are upsides in addition to the downsides you point out
