[Class Suggestion] The Lord Commander

The Lord Commander (Blue Dragon Special)

Passive: Loyal Until Death - You keep an Elite Blue Dragon Banner at your door, so if a Mastermind or Cult Leader attempts to convert you, they will be prevented from visiting you.

Passive: Sworn Vows - Due to an Oath you made upon becoming a Lord Commander, you are unable to step up to become King.

Day Ability [Support]: Lock-down - You will extend the current day phase into the night by 30 seconds, the night phase will be shortened by 30 seconds. - 2 uses.

Day Ability [Investigative]: Honour and Prestige - Target a player. You will be informed if they have Royal Blood. - 3 uses.

Night Ability: Sworn to Protect [Support] - Target a player. You will prevent any visits to them. - 2 uses.

Night Ability: Distinction [Investigative] - Target a player. You will be told if they are Convertible or Non-Convertible. You will also be told if they were just converted. - Infinite uses.

Additional notes:

  • Guaranteed to spawn and class is Unique.
  • Special because it can investigate and support Blue Dragon.
  • Distinction determines already converted players to be Non-Convertible.
  • Sworn to Protect will notify the same as Merc protection.
  • I know there are similarities to others classes, for example, Maid and Merc, I think this Class could benefit from those.
  • This Class will give Blue Dragon it’s power class back since Sheriff and Paladin can now be converted while still being balanced in the way that it isn’t giving BD any definitive “this is Unseen” or “this is Cult”

LordCommander

Lore:

“In all my years of service to the crown, I never once broke my oath. I serve the Dragon until I die.”

The Lord Commander was a renowned veteran Knight. After many years of loyally serving the Blue Dragon, he took up an oath and swore fealty to his kingdom. It was clear to some that the Lord Commander was more than just an ordinary knight, he was something quite unique.

While being a veteran in combat, he was too frail to raise a sword. Instead, he used his skills in identifying the weak minded and the royals he abode with. He also used his veteran skills to protect others from visits.

This ability is kinda… Trollish…

People may just use it and force it to extend the game…

2 uses. It’s 120 seconds in total. 2 minutes.

It’s better than “Vote up that person for time” - saves the risk of King from forcing an execution.

Maybe nerf it into 30 second each time, 1 minute.

30 seconds is nothing, 60 seconds is far more useful.

Isn’t the court have 90 second phase?

The reason sheriff and paladin can eb converted now is because there were to many classes that could not be converted.

You would just be undoing this.

Also, I think the name needs revision. Other than that, It is good.

Who told you this?

Name ain’t changing fella.

Xblade or boslof, in the discord. Go ask them yourself, I can’t remember which said it.

Also, call him “Warlord” or something, lord commander sounds cheesy.

I think this class would be great if it could be converted. The converted form could take time off of days, and the rest of the abilities would be more or less the same. It would be the general (if you also adopt warlord.)

60s might be too much, I’d agree with the 30s @Insanity suggested.

Also, the investigative abilities seem kinda weak, maybe buff them a little bit? I like the concept of the class though :+1:

I did, actually… as a Moderator, it’s usually my best interest to know why things are changed and that wasn’t the reason it was changed.

It was for balance and to give Mastermind and Cult Leader a better claim.

i42- Boslof
Balance. It gives MM and CL a better claim

Lord Commander has meaning behind it.

You don’t understand the purpose of this class.

I didn’t want to make the Investigative abilities too strong, I didn’t want this to be BD’s reliant power class. More of a “BD isn’t entirely screwed if it loses the Unseen/Cult hunters”

It is convert immune, that is enough of a buff.

Being immune to conversion when you’re weak and can’t step for king is nothing though :man_shrugging:

Changes:

  • Lock-down - Lowered to 30 seconds but also removed 30 seconds from Night Phase.
  • Distinction - Tells Lord Commander if their target is converted on that night

The whole point of making sheriff and paladin convert able is so there was less classes that couldn’t be converted. Now you are just wasting that change.

It is a good class, but it should not be immune to conversion.

No, the change was made to Sheriff and Paladin for balance purposes and to give scum more claim room.
There’s no “wasting” any changes. BD lost a powerhouse.

Give me a detailed and explained reason why this should be a Convertible Class, not that it will help. This stays as I intended to be. Blue Dragon’s new powerhouse.

Go ask boslof if there should be another blue dragon class that cannot be converted. Ask if the sheriff and paladin were changed for the prupose of having more conversions .

having more convert able classes was for balance purposes…

It’s funny because I did ask Boslof and I just told you what he said.

Boslof tells us all the same thing about new classes. If we have a class suggestion, we post it here. That’s what I did. I’m not going to go ask Boslof “if there should be another blue dragon class that cannot be converted” because I already know the answer. His response will be something along the lines of “we’re still in beta we won’t know for certain”

Let me rephrase my original claim.

Unless we have a balancing mechanism that changes how many classes that cannot be converted spawn per game, we do not need another class that can’t be converted.

My suggestion is this: Make the lord commander more powerful, andmake it so each game spawns with lord commander Or prince.

There is plenty of convertible slots.

1 King
2 Prince
3 Mastermind/CultLeader
4 Assassin/Seeker
5 Random BD
6 Random BD
7 Random BD
8 Random Neutral
9 Random BD
10 Random BD
11 Random BD
12 Random Neutral
13 Random BD
14 Random BD
15 Random BD
16 Random Neutral

From my experience, this is what I believe to be the algorithm.
