[Class Suggestion] The Necromancer

I made some changes to make it more balanced. I guess it’s typical to overpower at first attempt. My intention was largely to give the dead more to do. Limiting being a spirit to convertable classes only, will only half-reach that goal. So I at least wanted to throw the idea out there of it being a possibility. Balancing issues can also be compensated on other points. For now I removed the idea of making a conversion immune target a spirit.

To curb it’s power I removed the occupy immunity and capped its members at 3 spirits. The Necromancer can let go of some spirits to try and attain more powerful ones with its second day ability: Let go. Or at least he can strategically change an investigative class to a healer for instance lategame. A CW is also a more desirable target to get as a spirit to counter being occupied.

Personally I’d just make move on remove their ability’s and let them stay in the chat. Also you should give him 1 time night immunity to give him staying power.

Make the spirits have an active keyword and give a limit of 3 active spirits at any given moment (which can be chosen during the day in addition to being able to use Respect the Dead much like CL sacrafice)

I still think you’re conjuring up too many fringe scenario’s. Remember that he has weaknesses that other NK’s get around. He’s not death immune first of all, so any early yolobombs or assassin kills are just as likely to kill him, as in your scenario that he gets the assassin. He cannot kill healed targets like reaper can. A simple knight guard will kill him so important targets like prince, remain more untouchable. I curbed his power a bit and he’s now vulnerable to occupation as well. He cannot get around bearing hunter like sorcerer/reaper/possessor can either.

While it is 100% ok for him to be vulnerable to Wolf/Knight/Repeat attacks/Occupation ect a yolo bomb or a N1 assassin should not be able to take out the NK.

Usually if a class has a super strong win method but also a super weeksause weekness he ends up being super swingy.

It’s my intention that limbo is a separate from dead chat. Spirits will first go to limbo, so they do not interact with any of the other dead. Psychic will not hear from players in limbo. This also makes Psychic able to identify it is likely a Necromancer game, typical to how he can already predict reaper/possessor (and thus also the complement sorcerer) games.

You are right. Thanks for the all the feedback. I decided on this solution to gave him some n1/n2 surviveability.
One With Death - The Necromancer is immune to death, if he is not linked to any spirit.
