[Class Suggestion] The Philanderer, an uncomfirmable Blue Dragon Social!

I think there’s a niche for a Social class that uses public info as a way to deduce who everyone is, but it needs abilities that allow them to check specific things, and is fakeclaimable.

This was my attempt at it, if you have suggestions to improve the concept, I’m all ears.

Your consept is fundimentally flawed. Social deduction and utilizing public information is not a niche. That’s just standard play.

And a class that has the tools to enhance that standard play is a viable concept. Physician and Alchemist are enhanced versions of the tried and true Doctor role. Enhancing a basic mechanic is a perfectly valid concept.

It’s like adding a passive that tells if you are occupied or redirected. I already know that without the passive so who cares?

It’s totally valid. We call it QoL changes and they stay non-class spacific.

Imagine if only the court wizard could use the spacific feedback mechanic. (The one that lists out all possible causes for a given result). Or only the noble could use default logs and private notes. Or if anyone besides the mystic couldn’t check the other tabs in the chat logs

You are focusing a lot on the passive and not the actual class concept, which is that plus the ability to obtain specific, narrow information that helps you deduce things. Yes, the passive by itself would make a terrible class. However, the passive plus the ability to act upon the information you receive is what what makes the class valid.

If you think the abilities are insufficient at capitalising on the passive’s value, then that’s a fair criticism and I’m open to suggestions on what non-confirmable abilities could be used instead, but “this is concept is fundamentally flawed” does not help me.

Or in otherwords “it’s an inestigative class” is the consept.

You are going to have to be more spacific than that. All information helps you dedcue things so you aren’t saying anything.

Concept.

Investigative.

Obtaining information is not the sole purview of Investigative classes. The Prince, the Mystic and the King ask for claims and logs, and the Noble writes down whispered info and Gossips. None of those are Investigative classes.

Obtaining and managing information is how you win the game, regardless of your class. Obtaining highly specific information should be allowed for Social classes. If this means that the Princess’s information-gathering ability should be buffed slightly (perhaps her Will O’ Wisp) to make her on par with the value provided by Sheriff/Paladin/Observer, so be it.

Not helping your case.

Given what you just said your consept is “Its a class!”.

Not sure what else to tell you, friend.

You could start by telling me why this class improves the game.

Or at the very least tell me what this class is supposed to do that other classes can’t.

It’s supposed to be a class that can be fakeclaimed by evils/neutrals, it’s a Social class that can’t autoconfirm itself with an ability, and it’s a class meant to assist and enhance players with good social deduction abilities.

Contrary to what one might think, Paladin and Sheriff don’t really have abilities that enhance social deduction, just binary checks and “gotcha” abilities. Princess and Observer actually do have abilities that improve their social deduction skills, but Observer is so hard to credibly fake it might as well be unclaimable and Princess would be fine, but has Royal Blood as a giveaway.

Overall, the intention is to have a class that can approach public information from a different angle than what we have thus far while serving as a proper fakeclaim.

Sooooo this?:

Also the sheriff’s check enhances deduction far more than you would expect. Just not as much as other investigatives.
