Considerations, feedback and even suggestion pertaining to the hopeful growth of this game

Also, at the end of the day, I think there are far more obvious reasons that players have gone elsewhere. Making it FTP and mobile won’t fix those issues.

Might it be enough to counteract them? Who can say?

But it certainly won’t fix them.

Nah the only thing that won’t fix it is inaction to do anything. Being incredibly pessimistic without offering solutions to fix things doesn’t really help, either. Some people like myself look at this game fondly and want it to thrive, hence me even bothering to pitch ideas to fix its problems. Others however seem content with the ship sinking and don’t really care if others sink with them.

I’m a bit concerned with your assertion that anyone who disagrees with your specific ideas must obviously want everything to get worse for… reasons?

Like I know you’ve been around a while because I remember talking with you back in 2017 but if you think I’m still here now because I want this game to fail I’m just confused as to how you can possibly hold that view?

Plus one of the people arguing against you is a literal Guide, who I have a hard time believing is just here to watch the ship go down.

Maybe it’s worth considering that the people that disagree with you aren’t just automatically wrong and malicious and that maybe, just maybe, they are worth listening to, even if they don’t convince you fully.

he’s on to me

I don’t think this logic is false, but would you say that inaction is the right word to describe the state of ToL?

I’m trying to figure out if I agree with Orange because he’s right or because he’s good at explaining his points in a way that I find persuasive

No it’s really just me pointing out some people posting solely to disagree without bothering trying to chip in anything meaningful.

Who do you feel is doing that?

You’re not even on my bad side lmao

This is literally ToL

How ranked conversion could work, since someone brought up points.

If you start as evil and lose, you lose full points.
If you were an old (N1-2) convert, you lose full points.
If you were a Mid convert (N3+), You lose Half+ of starting points
If you were a recent convert (1-3 days before EoG), you lose No to Half of starting points

While this definitely isn’t perfect (It was made by me), It’s a rough outline of why “BuT sPiTe CoNvErTs ArE uNfAiR” is not a good argument for ranked.

what about the other way around.

In other words, winning scum.

cuz while it doesn’t feel as bad, pity converts are just as big of an issue.

Starting/N1-2: Full points
N3+: Half+ points
1-3 before EoD: None to Half points.

More than 2 factions is an inherently un-competitive aspect of both ToL and ToS yet ToS has ranked. Yes conversion adds more uncompetitiveness but these effects will balance out over many games (alch sides with you this game but with your opponent the next), it’s absolutely not something that makes ranked impossible.

Getting converted into losses more as you climb higher up the ladder wouldn’t make your winrate fall as you get better, it would just slow the climb until you learned how to avoid conversion.

I’m not saying your wrong per say. But I will say that ToS ranked is a mess
