Copy Pasting ability feedback text ruining games

Just experienced a game where I was evil and fakeclaimed, then I was asked to copy paste the message that will show up in the message box when you do your night actions. Having never seen this shit before I had no message prepared and was lynched. Now of course I could have been lynched anyway. But the fact that I did not copy paste a the ability feedback should not impact that decision. I do not want to have a word doc with all the different system messages ready for copy pasting to prove my role. The only thing that should tell the others what my role is or is not should be my play.

TLDR: Please remove the ability to copy paste from the message box, so this don’t become a thing.

I do agree with this. I don’t understand how meta can be “Well, scroll up, copy and paste your night time result!”
Like what? Surely that is why we use journals? We need to try and built trust / lie & deceive each other, not use copy + paste from chat mechanics. I’m sure this is something they’ll tinker with.

After finishing this message I only just realised i42 is staff but I still want to just pop my opinion lol :slight_smile:

Isn’t metagaming officially not allowed in ToL? I know it’s allowed in ToS but I thought it was banned here.

can’t wait for this issue to be fixed <3 i suggested it to alfa a while ago, but they didnt pay much attention to it, hopefully it’s disabled soon, otherwise we’re gonna end up have a notepad with all the system chat outputs from night abilities for each class open to copy/paste into our wills as evil roles.

I’m sure you can understand why that’d be dumb considering new players would have a lot of trouble really learning the game, and the fact that the game would cause players to HAVE to use outside game resources to play evil roles well… can’t wait for the patch @Ellie <3

I’ll be starting up a Meta Gamers Anonymous group that meets up every Tuesday night at 8 pm on the Discord server to talk and support each other in times of need. This group will be focused on the victims of metagaming and allow an open communication between those who feel they have nowhere to go or nobody to talk to. Stay tuned.
