if they’re not posting at all there are interpretations of that that make sense from both alignments, like, maybe they’re scum lurking but maybe they’re just really busy. also, a lot of people could reasonably be categorized as ‘just not posting at all,’ and (a) they can’t all be scum (b) I am not very confident in my ability to distinguish a town 3poster from a scum 3poster

whereas if they’re posting to complain about the threadstate, but not doing anything to change it, that indicates that they could be doing things to change it (since they’re in the thread and posting) but are choosing not to

oh yeah that’s definitely just my personality and how i talk to people. if someone asks me something i’m able to do, of course i’ll eagerly comply.

the set-up is somewhere between kind of scumsided and super scumsided, and more relevantly no one is actually bothering to play the game, which makes things easy for scum since, like, good luck sorting the three-posters
