Court Wizard rework(Unknown version; Version 2)

Only MW and Fool/Scorned frames? No there is more.

Drug, Mindwarp and Frame. Are you happy now? ToL dosen’t have too many framing things.

yeah ok sage in works

who said framing only.

And Brotherhood and Dark Wisp. Which are not that commonly used anyway.

It’s far too situational. Framing and godfatherising are nowhere near as common as they are in ToS and other Mafia games. Plus, why would you not use it on Sheriff/Paladin immediately?

You need to find out the invests, of course.
And yes it is not very OP.
But… there are 3 potentially powerful abilities here.

And they are all potentially powerful swingy abilities. Swing is a bad thing, because if ToL gets much more swingy than it is currently it’ll be a BD or Evil stomp every single game with no inbetween.

Also Invigorating Sacrifice is still not worth dying for. It’s far too rarely useful to warrant such a ridiculous commitment.

well guess what… as much as I’d like to use non-confirmable and not swingy abilities…
they won’t get accepted.

You can make a non-swingy support ability that isn’t boring. Just look at Phys.

Healing is swingy.
Very swingy.

Healing shifts the game back by one kill in a game with 3kpn with the faction + NK

No it’s not. Healing is consistently good. There’s a difference between an ability that always does something and a swingy ability.

Protection isn’t swingy in itself, it’s just a protection that very rarely happens but is really good is what we call sinwgy.

Ok, next question. Why is Mind Net swingy?

Because it has a low probability of success and a high impact when it does.

Let’s see. In orer for it to trigger, a few conditions have to be met:

  • The converter has been netted
  • The convertee has been netted
  • Neither of them have died

If these 3 conditions are triggered, which are hard conditons to predict all at once, bearing in mind, this happens:

  • Convertee becomes convert immune
  • A smart CW can figure out that this happened and catch the converter

Except by then the converter’s probably dead and the convertee’s probably been stabbed because of how long it took you to set up and make the net. So it’s probably not going to make much diffference most of the time, except in that 1 in 10 case when you figure all of this out before the rest of the BD does and the kills fail, you’ve got a confirmed BD permanently and a confirmed evil.

QED: It’s swingy,
Now, I have to go right now. I’ll get on with reviewing all the reworks when I get back.

You have no idea how many games you’re going to see a CW just say
ā€œYoloā€
and do this n1 so they can leave and get another game, making the NK or Assassin ignore death immunities.

Ok that one was not so good. How is this then?

Besides SoF how are these useful on Unseen?
