I disagree with this fyi. You could have converted every night still and hit guaranteed town, since to your discovery, Squid was the Vig. All mafia and the cop were down, so everyone was convertable. I don’t want to do the math, but I think cult would have won if there was 1 or 2 mislynches/shots, which shouldn’t be too difficult if the number of cult are low.
(But I left, so I’m one to talk)
I brushed lightly on this in CITJR 1, early/mid-game keeping converts at 2 allows you to statistically decrease your chance of getting lynched, however mid-game heading towards lylo you want to build up your numbers so you can win. This situation where the vigilante is still alive I think cult should tend towards building numbers immediately because best play for vigi is to NK as NK takes priority over conversion, you effectively stop conversions which is an interaction that cannot occur when you daykill as vigi
