this is so sad
Hi! To find out what I can do, say @discobot display help
.
how i do tis
I have an unhealthy rage for fireballs for reals.
Wizards had an article where they said that some stuff was left OP/UP in magic spells so the game would have more swing and because unbalancing a little was fun
and it’s forgotten because everyone picks fireball anyway
what subclass are you going
Lore I think
1, 4
I might have my next character use wild magic to make it more fun
so you ask the DM to put other options on the table that are as good, instead of crippling yourself imo
very fair haha
Both exist in Forgotten Realms, where Lemures are the “rank 0” when you do something to provoke the ire of a powerful devil while you’re an imp, whereas you still start as an imp when first going there (“rank 1”).
very true
honestly no point in even statting the thing beyond AC and hp because it’s gonna die before it can do anything anyway after like lvl 2 :^)
pisses me off too
5e is in desperate need of more options so that you don’t have to use homebrew to make the game fun
like it’s almost worse than 3.5e because at least in 3.5e there’s a large range of top-tier options (though 90% of the content is still going to waste for being trash) whereas in 5e there’s not enough content to justify the imbalance
lol you should have a chat with Marl about how fun that was :^)
But the real bet of this thread is how long it will take for someone to dip Hexblade or think they’re the first person to ever think of Devil’s Sight + Darkness lmaooo
how do I do quipment buying stuff
Oooooh I didn’t knew
agreed. but I’m also a homebrew crazy
tbh the DM decides the real impact of spells not only removing the combat-centered aspect but also by how the encounters/scenarios are made
also the thingy of the player being more impactant than the sheet even when it comes to combat
illusion can go from utterly useless to mindshatter
nah it is until someone reads that you could just faint opponents instead of killing them if you are into charge of the final blow and openly declare that you want to faint instead of assassinating
SERIOUSLY I TOOK WAY TOO LONG TO KNOW THAT
@Pug
I once dmed a table for level-1s and we had a harsh time in easy encounters
maybe it was because we didn’t have healer or tanks but…
- be careful when picking creatures by CD:
– A lot of things can knock down a character with only one, well-placed hit if the target wasn’t a tank (as a lot of CD 1/8 humanoid hit dice are 1d8+1)… and if they were a tank, change it to “two normal hits”.
And you are supposed to have eight CD 8 creatures in camp. You can’t simply eliminate everyone before they hit or really position yourself well. A single 1/4 can potentially knock down a PC on the spot, principally if they have double attacks and idk the translation BUT THERE IS A SINGLE 1/4 WALKING PLANT WHO CAN RANGED HIT YOU FOR 2D6+1 BECAUSE, WELL, THEY CAN. honestly it’s so much newbie dm trap because “oh let’s pick a plant it shoudn’t do harm” AND LET ME TELL YOU THIS DEMON IS THE OWN GULTHIAS. Also there are some creatures like the little wisp things who can only be hit by magic and most low-levels will end up with only one character in the party being able to hit the thingy. So seriously pick those well.
– By what I said before take priority on getting CD 1/8 if you don’t know well what’cha doing
The cliché are safe (zombies, skeletons, goblins, kobold) but they are also cliché
so if you’re in a hurry you can just reskin them
What does CD mean? Cross dresser ?
