“And implying that I can overstate my prowess. That’s where you misjudged me.” Snorts.
i’ll do that later. kthxbye
(Also, I like how no one questioned the Wyvern and instead jumped right into everything like nothing happened; P.S scream at me everytime I do something wrong, its been like 3-4 years)
Rielle awakens, recalling what had transpired.
“That thing got us good, didnt it…”
Rielle looks around to look for her comrades to ensure their safety.
(It was of less importance than fighting each other for ego)
Before exiting the plateau with the map in hand, Beruk heard something of note, that being the words of a person. ‘There were other survivors’ he thought. Reluctantly he trudges back to the main crash site.
Noticing another of the bodies actually is up, he says with an utter lack of sincerity “Well hellllo sunshine. While your ass has been out cold the rest of us have figured out where we are going,” pointing to the map in his hands.
Rielle is obviously frustrated.
“I’m quite sorry. I failed to protect you all from disaster. Now, we have to deal with this.”
Rielle motions to the wreckage.
Rielle begins to pace around.
“So, you have a map. Great. Where to?”
Beruk shoots a deadpan “You really don’t have to be so regretful in regards to what happened. Heck, most of everybody here doesn’t even care about it. Besides, why are you so intent to dwell back on something completely out of your control like that? Are you some sort of self-proclaimed virtuoso of justice and all things happy and good? That really doesn’t matter right now, considering the dire straights we are in currently.”
Beruk furrows his brow, gaining some semblance of his prior self-composure. He states that “First order of business is to get off this rock. Then we coast northwest until we find our destination for this journey.”
Standing on top of a piece of rubble from the crash, Beruk gazes into the distance. In a flash of guilt, the whole journey that it took to get up to this point flashes before him. He grimaces, peering longingly at the indecipherable mistake he made.
“We can’t change the past. Nor should we try to. It’s a wasted breath that only unearths more scars.”
Beruk then looks back at Rielle. “All the more reason for you to not ditch your self-respect on something you can’t attain.”
“Urgh… what all noise?”
The mountainous Goliath Unnok finally emerges from the crash zone.
“Unnok no able to rest for ONE moment?”
The sudden noise startles Beruk, un-sobering him from his prior train of thought. He addresses the giant in the proverbial room with a sneer.
“Could you wait one fucking moment!? Besides, we’ve been working for hours while you’ve been sitting on your ass dead asleep. WHY DIDN’T YOU WAKE UP EARLIER”
“Um… Unnok no wake earlier because…”
You can quite clearly see the one cog in his brain turning, trying to think of an answer.
“Unnok no wake because… because Unnok busy sleeping! Yeah, that it!”
Unnok beams with pride at having answered a question instead of giving up.
WHYYYYYYYY is the only thought reverberating throughout Beruk’s mind. He sighs, proceeding to spiel about what had happened before
“Since you’ve been sleeping, we found where we need to go. I’m the leader of this ragtag group of neanderthals and as such everyone reports to me. Does that make sense to you?”
Unnok raises his hand as if he were in a classroom, waiting for the teacher to call his name.
Beruk is…confused by the titan’s gesture, but quickly scrambles to respond
“What?”
“…What’s a Knee-Andy-Full?”
‘The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.’ Beruk fully understands this concept now.
“Adventurers, just by another name. They are like people who fight to help others.”
Unnok beams his giant beam, and gives a quite literal massive thumbs up to Beruk.
“Okey dokey! Um… what we do now?”
Unnok looks around and properly sees the rubble he emerged from.
“Oh… that not good.”
“Well…we have to head to where we’ve been told to go. It’s in that direction” points to the northwest.
“Go that way? Okey dokey!”
Unnok IMMEDIATELY starts walking off northwest.
