Danganronpa 3 - Despair on the Ramparts - Game Over

Not necessarily?

All I know is that the rope is long enough that it can loop around the camera and have both ends touching the ground

Well the killer had to have entered the Library by the East Wing or the Baths since TL/PKR and Min were in the courtyard at the time of the murder.

Also the reason I ask the camera question is that if it’s too high to reach via throwing the rope from the ground, the killer could theoretically use the ladder and throw the rope from there, then loop it around so they could pull zone’s body up in a sort of pulley mechanism

If zone wasn’t already dead by this point, this would also definitely strangle him.

But also

Going up the ladder would take more AP and likely more time

And the killer was gone by the time whysper entered

Originally I’ve been thinking Marshal did it and was making up the stuff about the blanket. But now I’m actually starting to see how it could be Alice also. Here are how I see the 2 cases.

Case against Marshal
  1. Marshal claims Alice had a blanket in her private slot by checking her with an ability. This is just his word, plus it would seem somewhat odd that Alice would already think about putting the blanket into her private slot.
  2. Marshal would have had to steal the rope from Alice. Perhaps he lucked out and took it undetected. Or maybe he has a confiscate ability that allows him to take an item from a player. This would be in line with an Ultimate Bouncer. He claims a 2nd ability that sounds potentially fake.
  1. He was last with Zone in his private quarters and had the opportunity to kill Zone, who was dazed already from getting hit with a shovel.
  2. Even though Marshal has injuries, I’m thinking game-wise he would be able to still climb a ladder with the rope in his inventory, then loop it around the security camera and let both ends fall to the ground. Then tie one end around the neck and pull the other to hoist up the body.
Case against Alice
  1. When I first arrived at the guardhouse, Alice was already there and 1 of 5 blankets were missing. Marshal arrived afterwards while we were both there.
  2. The guardhouse could potentially have had a skeleton key. This is a likely place for it to be if there is one in the place.
  3. Alice did have a rope. She claims it was stolen without her knowing about it, but this would be difficult to do.
  4. Alice could have gone back later to get another blanket without fingerprints and wrapped it with the blanket she already had. Then she might have returned the blanket with fingerprints to the guardhouse. There’s currently only 1 of 4 blankets there (bed went missing between Ch 1 and 2). I think it was Light who said he shredded all the blankets, but there’s one there.

Yes, I think the killer would have more likely did this, climbing the ladder with just the rope in their inventory.

I think it was nearly 2 hours after night started when I actually got there, so plenty of time.

…right

God I need to sort a timeline or something

the blanket is 100% a red herring, set up by the killer
we just need to determine who’s it framing

I meant everyone not just directed at one person

Anyway yeah I was asleep but I’m here, kinda

But like

Alice never set up the thunderdome

We really wouldn’t know who she’d be trying to frame if she was the killer?

exactly

marshal set up the thunderdome
the blanket is a framing device
he claims that it is on alice
therefore that is his framing device

If it is a red herring to frame someone, that would point to Marshal. He’s the only one trying to use it to point to Alice. If not for that claim about seeing the blanket in Alice’s possession, there’s nothing that would have linked the blanket to anyone else.

this is exactly what i am saying

another part of the case against marshal is that… well, they thunderdomed alice
and i greenchecked alice
and i don’t think it could possibly be the option where you wrap it x2
purely because it would probably count as an accessory to murder, and thus be only able to be dropped within the next rooms

I seem to remember Amelia claimed that the dagger had no fabric on it.
Are we to believe Amelia would also be an accomplice in a blackened!Alice world too along with Eli?

But I think you can only call it a red herring if you already believe that Marshal is the killer. Because if Alice is the killer, there’s definitely a way it could have been used by her to prevent getting fingerprints on the body and to drag the body to the library.

the uh
the problem with that
is that we wouldn’t even get away with it
