(I did notice a striking similarity to an old Chinese execution method with the whole “knives purely to cause pain” thing, pretty creative actually)

Lost inside the torturous workings of her head, Matilda starts mumbling to herself, tempo rising until not even Matilda herself can make out the jumbled stream of words coming from her mouth.

This man can’t seem to grasp what the hell is wrong with Matilda, honestly. Anything that comes out of her mouth recently just disgusts or scared him. How did she go from just being sad to being terrifying?

She begins to wrap her arms around herself, squeezing as tightly as she can for any grounding sensation. Matilda doesn’t even notice the blood streaming down her arms, it’s become so commonplace for her.

“Uhh…you’ve kinda got something going on…”

He nervously cleared his throat.

Wilfred just covers his eyes with his top hat again. He can’t bear to look at the sorry sight of them, lest he has another despairful breakdown.

She blinks several times, finally managing to follow Geoffrey’s intention. Looking down with a vision obscured by tears, Matilda can glimpse thin red trails that probably aren’t supposed to be there. She nods, acknowledging the man, yet doesn’t do anything more about it.
