I mean, back in middle school I was going on local university chemistry lectures if it counts.

One of them was about creating and detecting poisons.
Which afair concluded that best poison was water in big amounts.

There was also history of murderer who injected heart stopping poison under the nails of the victim, hence it was super hard to detect, but they managed to figure it out and then it was easy to detect in chemical way.
