i wouldn’t like you to recreate the entire setup on the back of an idea that is still highly experimental. but if you want to make it a true ending game; go for it. my ideas deserve to be stolen.

as conroy articulated earlier in the thread, that’s not actually a very good True Ending, for numerous reasons. maybe i’ll draft a workable TE to post in this thread as an exampe, but I want to keep all my cards close to my chest

Not sure if I said this before, but frankly each TE should heavily penalize the rest of the group if achieved. If it doesn’t then people here will just claim their TE condition out loud and then cooperate for it, which will make it fairly boring.

Kind of like how Wind literally claimed their wincon in Death City and people all ignored them and some even wanted to help them as I didn’t make the penalties for executing the Madman harsh enough.

i think the point is that to achieve the true ending (and unlock it too, actually) players have to do risky and potentially dangerous things anyway, possibly including killing (without actually needing to become the blackened, presumably)

there may already be penalties to other players e.g. someone can’t unlock their true ending until someone else is dead, which interestingly introduces motivation to kill without becoming the blackened

though you’re probably right for the most part, since i imagine most of the ways to unlock the TE are probably not on the same level as murder?

my intent is the more harmless TEs (although there are no truly harmless TEs) take way more dnagerous lengths to activate

my main concern is that with it being a novel concept in particular, everyone will be trying to get their TE and the game will just turn into VLDR
