Faced in game problems and now it crashes

What happened?

After the update a few days ago whenever I join a game my name is not highlighted in green anymore and at night I’m in a random room alone even if I’m part of the cult, unseen or in jail, as well as when I’m cult or unseen the members are not highlighted either but instead shown in a box above the normal players one. I tried taking screenshots but the game just won’t allow me anymore. Today when I tried play the game won’t load and tells me ‘the game crashed’ with the specific folder that caused it and that I should contact a developer.

Comments:

I tried uninstalling the game and steam as well but the same problem remained.

It feels like a lot of games are crashing now. There were 3 (possibly more) crash reports in the past day. Probably has something to do with the update.

I’m not sure how to reach a developer, will they just reply to me here?

Someone probably will work on it, likely Boslof, but they don’t reply to bug reports that often if it usually can just be fixed without asking questions. They usually only post if something in the OP was vague.

You’re in Streamer mode. You can turn it off in the options.

For the crashing, you should post the files from your crash folder in the bugs channel in the Discord.

A mode for streamers that separates sensitive information, so they can block it out if they want.

Yeah I noticed and I switched it off but it didn’t go off. Now I’m unable to go in the game because it crashes and I get the message that I have to show the developer a specific file.

It seems to be trying to start in Vulkan and failing. If you’re not choosing to use Vulkan on startup, then your graphics drivers or OS likely need updated.

No I’m running the normal game because I also went into steam and loaded the game from there. Also Vulkan worked for me yesterday but had the same in game problems i mentioned earlier.

Well make sure your drivers and OS are up to date, because that is cause of a lot of crashes.

If it’s crashing when you start the game up, then it means it’s probably an issue with your OS. Usually updates to the OS will fix it.

I just restarted my computer and opened the game without it crashing, also I was able to turn of streamer mode this time and now the game is back to normal. Thank a lot for you help!
