Reaper kills knight, sorcerer doesn’t
And Reaper consumes a limited resource, even if it is somewhat plentiful. There are pros and cons to each, but as I said that doesn’t mean I think balance is perfect obviously.
Yes exactly my point was reaper is better, maybe the extent to which I said he was better was wrong though
Back to the topic. . .
I’d have to say, Reaper or Sorc. Poss is just too hard to win because late game there are often 2 immune targets that you can’t get past (king and MM) which can lead to a lot of unwinnable games.
Sorc can be good if your Unseen/Cult are smart enough to work with you, but often requires an Evil King to win with.
Reaper is my favorite because the ability to bypass night immunity means that late game you can pick your targets and reap accordingly. The best way to win is to try and reap BD and Unseen/Cult evenly so you are not the main target (this is easier in unseen games with the MM), then late game, once the balance of power tips, you reap the power player (king or MM usually).
I have won my share of NK games, and winning usually requires one or both of the following:
Cooperation: This will be neuts for poss/reaper, unseen/cult for sorc. Having the neuts on your side as NK can make the games very interesting. Before psycho king I won a poss game because alch took the throne then claimed NK, allowing me to claim alch and slide on by for the victory.
Mis-plays: Usually someone has to make a critical mistake that saves you. In one game this was a drunk (who I thought was evil) not calling me out for openly claiming that he used Happy Hour on me the night I was supposed to wolf. In other games it’s things like prince exe’ing the Inquisitor or BD ignoring you entirely.
I think the bets way to do it is to stall for as long as possible. Whenever two people almost have enough votes, vote for the one you think will be voted down, so the trial is wasted AND you can put the suspicion on anyone who guiltied
