The issue with this is: it leads to Logs being way better fakeable. I don’t really see the improvement in this.

The fact that the specific semantics in logs isn’t as important as the literal content of the logs, so making the semantic portion as easy as possible is just QoL.

Why is this even presented as an issue? What you are describing sounds like a desirable outcome.

Oh, we often use semantics in logs as indication for fake logs. If your logs have effort, they are more likely true, because they can’t be written in 10 seconds.

Yeah that’s a silly method of finding evils. I don’t like that.

I know it’s a thing and it can work sometimes. I just don’t like it, and it’s probably very frustrating for a new player.

“Probably” undersells the fact that being caught out on a lie not because it was a mistake but because you missed the specific wording is an experience that makes new players want to quit.

In no way is it a good game mechanic to place the focus on the wording of your logs instead of the actual implications your logs have on the game.

Actively moving to encourage such low-level gameplay over the alternative of needing to use social deduction is frankly baffling.

Pretty much.

If there is any game that has the tools to have some truely interesting moments in an online turbo mafia setting it’s this one

TBH, I feel like the History tab thing and all the various QoL mechanics are far more helpful for that than most people give credit.

Things like auto-formatted logs, easy copy/pasting messages, UI that makes it clear exactly what is happening at any given moment ect are extremely helpful.

Don’t you die if you attack a bluedragon regardless if they actually died?

No. A death immune or shielded BD will not cause the Knight to die.

idk why either.

They changed that? Weird

It’s been a thing for awhile. I just don’t get why a healed target procs suicide.

:hmm:

Add Butler/Drunk if their target is deb/redirect immune?

That wouldn’t work too well as that is offensive and not supportive though, so it would need different phrasing. “You did not affect your target” or something.

It could be a generic “[x] was immune!
