It is always better to lynch D1 because even if it is wrong, it reduces the PoE.
The only case where you would want a no lynch is if you are waiting for a cop to give results.

Does majority only mean a majority of the players have to accuse one player or no one is lynched? So if no one gets at least 9 votes today no one will be executed? Or is it just most votes dies
