[FM] Mafia Academy 1 - Mafia Victory

Day 3 start.

Will last till modbot closes thread.

so @astand wanna explain yourself?

First of all, whoever healed me and Vulgard are pretty great. If the poisonā€™s fake, thenā€¦ Eh. I have a theory going on, but Eeveeā€™s being vague when I asked him something

Alright, I have a physics lab shortly so I donā€™t have time for a longpost with all my thoughts from the night (there are a couple things I noticed that seem telling surrounding Astand announcing the redcheck, and some very interesting things I noticed about the VCA) but the big thing I want to point out now is that that nightkill basically condemns Merc. Luxy/Geyde spent most of yesterday pushing on that slot, and if Merc were town scum wouldā€™ve been happy to let them keep driving the Merc train. (Thereā€™s also a couple things I noticed about Mercā€™s slot that Iā€™ll get into when I get out of lab). The nightkill isnā€™t looking great for Dat either but Mercā€™s slot absolutely needs to be killed with fire.

(Sidenote: whatā€™s the current general consensus about fruitclaiming?)

Hey squid I want to hear your theory, cause I think the fact that the poison appeared at EOD and only had 1 night to heal is suspicous enough that it might be fake, but thats my idea on it

I donā€™t see why we shouldnt claim them

Luxy/Geyde was one of the most vocal town Day 2, so that would explain the kill. No matter what were the results of yesterdayā€™s lynch, Iā€™m certain sheā€™s scum.

Now, my theory is that FK/Katzeā€™s flip could be altered. Itā€™s confirmed that there are bastard elements here, but he wonā€™t say what they are

So, Fkz was town.

It is my belief that whenever you are confused, there is a clash between your beliefs/your assumptions and your observations, that is, something you believe/assumed is wrong.

however its not always immediately obvious what you did wrong. in fact, the obvious assumption can quite often be incorrect. for example, a magic trick. say a magician appears to pull two interlocked rings apart. you as the viewer are initially confused. your observation that the magician pulled 2 interlocked rings apart is clashing with your assumption that one cannot just pull 2 interlocked rings apart. the first thing you think, is that, obviously, the assumption that you cannot just pull 2 interlocked rings apart is wrong.
however, this is not right. in actuality, the assumption you made wrong was that the magician actually pulled the 2 rings apart.

it is in the spirit of this that i invite you all to join me in attempting to prove something here perfectly logically. what we will be attempting to prove that astand did not receive a false result. that is, we are trying to prove that astand and fkz is not t v t.
we will be doing this via a proof by contradiction.
to do this, we assume the opposite, and strive to prove that right. if, try as we might, we cannot show it to be true, then it must be false, and thusly our initial idea is true.
so, if we assume that astand and fkz is t v t, how might that be true?

we have already made a bit of progress on this.

  • could astand secretly have a role that gives him a false result, such as an insane cop?
    • no. the evidence for this is that the game is not bastard.
  • could fkz have been framed by the mafia?
    • probably not, as i believe it was said that they were not a strong target for mafia, and so they probably wouldnt have been targeted with a frame

Is there any other way that our assumption could be true?

So you beleive the cop that has outed twice one he confirmed was fake, and the second time the flip didnt match is telling the truth?

Is the game bastard or not?

Disq and I discussed it overnight and we donā€™t think the flip was altered, FK/Katze seemed concerned about the possibility of them flipping scum while if they were a death Godfather or whatever they would know they would be flipping town, and also if they were scum who was going to be fliptailored they wouldnā€™t want to bring up the possibility of flip altering effects. Iā€™d also have expected them to say something more like ā€˜get Astand next when I flip townā€™ if they were scum who expected to flip green.

The game itself isnā€™t bastard, Simon. Eevee said it contained bastard elements

When and where I just searched this thread and didnt see any mention of it by Eevee himself?

yall this isnt rhetorical
i do have some other reasons but i want you guys to try and come up with some

it could be semi-bastard. bastard elements can be in nonbastard games, since i think bastard elements covers godfathers.
personally i think a secretly insane cop wouldnt qualify in this scenario. however if you guys disagree thats fine. if it is consensus that this is enough information to properly strike out that possibility it works.
the point of this is not that you guys are convincing me, or that i am convincing you. the point of this is that we are attempting to conclusively prove something, such that only fools and wolfs .would be able to disagree

Ask Eevee in your class cards. This goes for everyone here in case you think Iā€™m lying

even if you think its obviously wrong. say it so we can put it and strike it out. the more things we try to use to show the t v t relation true, the more reliable our outcome becomes, the harder it is for someone to disagree.

Last post before lab: there could be some other result-changing effect (sort of like Solicā€™s thing in Looming Threat, or a Mind Warp type thing that targets the investigator, or some other conditional thing).

I kind of want to see what Astand says before I share my thoughts on which world weā€™re actually in.

like Im not sold currently on Astand being town. Currently thats two times where false info was given to us by him. The only way TvT makes sense to me is insane cop, but that still doesnt clarify the maxi out, and if thats a real check is maxi scum then by insane logic

Roleblocked Merc and I got two more bananas
