You’d usually see a bunch of votes piling on someone for what happened.
This is why I’m kind of at odds with the general playerbase here.

i have fake claimed 3rd party killer as Scum to attempt to buy myself time i will admit. I have been part of the problem
People thought claiming third party in setups where those are guaranteed was a good idea because that way they’ll dodge night kills.
They don’t need a reason often enough; they’ll just do it unprovoked
This isn’t as bad a claiming wolf as village. Tactically claiming another form of wolf as a wolf can be used for strategic reasons,
“I keep getting nightkilled n1 after HC’d doctor during RVS. What should I do? Oh, I’ll just claim SK d1 instead.”

Sad thing is that because James tried to clear themselves with it, it’s probably a town indicative for sheer what-the-fuck value.
