I think your thought about scum piling the counterwagon so theyā€™re not all voting the mislynch comes from a good thought process but doesnā€™t look far enough

most wolves are kind of uncomfortable voting the same wagon as other wolves because it associates them, so you rarely see more than ~two wolves on the same wagon without a good reason (such as a wolf being at risk of lynch)

if the D2 wagons that actually mattered were all on villagers then wolves wouldnā€™t have had a need to stack up on the same wagon
