Yeah you’re probably thinking of me

Well, I don’t prefer tone, but it’s usually what I get first I guess

I simply like referring to people’s actions sometimes having contradictary reasoning behind them
of course if somebody’s tone is shit I am going to lynch them

Wazza has taught me through his infinitely wise plays such as bootlegging Ashe’s reads that villagers will fucking do anything.

Hesitance is wolfy in a lot of instances.

Is it time to DT NP D1?

Dang I never thought of that

I think the issue with tonereads is that we all have differing definitions of what they mean and how they work lol. Some people see tone in terms of word choice, others as motivation, and others as some intrinsic quality of being a helpful player and they all have differing effectiveness.
Same goes for scumtells and contradictions. There’s no rule that tells you if somebody is scum or town ever because scum can simply avoid it. You can go micro or macro, but at the end of the day reads aren’t algebraic. Something that reads townie for FK may be scummy for Ici based on game state and perspective.

ninja you dealt with zones wrath before I assume? Is there a way to escape it or just not

Villagers will lie about town reading someone so they aren’t scumread when in secret they scumread that person

Best example I can think of is somebody posting two perspectives in one post or very close together which seem to make sense on the surface but when you look beneath it you notice that one half of the post implies that reads should be made cautiously and the other part implies that reaction fishing is important.

That reeks of the person who made that post knowing that only the cautious read is correct.

Does that make sense?

Yeah it does tbh

Nah it’s kinda a hopeless endeavor. Best case scenario you get him to start focusing on reads and stuff and try to help him improve as a player and gradually it’ll be less of a thread clog.

:+1:
Scum has issues deciding between being townie and pushing their agenda and this is one of the largest manifestations of this.

Villagers contradicting themselves day-to-day is par for the course, but villagers generally don’t contradict themselves within the space of a few posts in terms of perspective.

(Not to say that everybody with dynamic positions is a villager; experienced wolves change their positions every day because that’s how you get multiple mislynches.)

@Emilia second ping in different threads in a hour yes because I’m rude.

@Ami @Isaac_Gonzalez

There is.

Yep. In other words: Distraction. Because I keep forgetting to play positively every time I start a new game, I basically get attached to whoever is giving food (motivation) to the barking dog (Villager Idiot) that I am. After all: “A good dog doesn’t bite the hand that gives him food”.

Hm… Yeah, I can easily see this happening.
It won’t happen from me though. I am a bad liar after all.
If you can’t see that I am lying, then you… are “special” …in a bad way.

side note: this was kinda me on Dels in the holiday mash and I wish i’d looked closer at him lol

Welp, I am bored. Time to post whatever is coming to my head.
Hm… What was it that I said again…
“Upon accusation (whether true or false), you can give [x] types of reactions.”
[Distraction], [Denial], [Ignorance]… were there more?

funny thing is it also works vice versa

PSA to Townies: Don’t let that happen. Your voice matters and if you think that consensus townread is scum you need to show it. I know some of my largest mafia regrets are pushing my easy scumreads instead of my difficult ones and not taking down players like Shakespeare who a townread has basically been ingrained into the town consciousness. If your case is bad, your fellow townies will help you reevaulate and you’ll be able to try to decide if you’re right or wrong and can reevaluate.

For the record in every game we play I’m going to try to force you to have good reads and play well. Be warned.
