If it was that easy everyone would be building planes. But a person can’t build a plane unless they know how it works.
When you build a plane, I don’t know the exact specifics but you would need to wire each button to a specific thing. How do you know what to wire if you don’t even know how it works?

Also, we aren’t working with manuals here. Do you think he has an airplane manual sitting around here? No I don’t think so. But I do think that if he’s an engineer he could figure out how to build one (depending on what type of engineer he is)

even if we assume the engineer in question knows every single function and can recall them perfectly, theres a big difference between that and knowing how to use them well enough to fly
