The main problem was someone saying no that’s a bad idea and the other consul spite vetoing. Fun fact, if a consul died or something I think In times of emergencies people could become dictators and have imperium power basically no limits. They were elected for 6 months and then had to give up the power. The problem was this was that they could change the laws for example, allowing someone who’s a dictator to be a dictator for a year
