It adds nothing except when rolling you roll a 1/5 for category and then roll a 1/n for which class in that category

That’s not what she is saying. That’s the same pitfall I fell into. Shes simply saying instead of rolling a 1/all the classes. We roll for roles first and then roll for classes out of those rolls. Both systems give about the same results.
