FoL Feedback Thread

(high complexity games are admittedly really fun, it’s just that we’re being too pigheaded in our homages to ToL so we can’t get things to a place where they are fun on the forums)

( it’s like hearthstone in terms of rng swing, and there are better ā€œfunā€ games )

( people join FoL games faster than any other type except maybe stuff hosted by eevee. I think it’s that popular for a reason )

(hey i recently crafted Malygos druid for Wild, that deck’s pretty fun! but i do agree that if i wanted to play a fun AND balanced game i’d play MtG, which is amazing, because MtG is like the ToL to HS’s ToS, so you’d expect it to be less balanced)

Fol is way less complex than some other rm games on this site

( but it costs a fortune )

(like there are entire MtG decks based around destroying your opponents’ lands using RNG cards)

(look at this dubmass thing. this thing belongs to the more balanced game. FoL’s problems aren’t because it’s more complex, or because it’s special, or whatever- it’s because we’re sticking too closely to things that simply cannot function in longform games)

(we should move the card game discussion to the cookie thread where we can remove the brackets from it)

( no )

RIP NK
will miss

Still dont get it

(it still incorporates RNG and elements from Hearthstone that made it imbalanced but it uses its’ greater complexity to provide limits to said RNG and reduce its’ swing, while still making the joy of a roulette deciding which of your opponent’s lands to destroy viable!)

(that’s what, in mafia form, we should aim for with FoL’s swing, and NK runs counter to that due to the sheer strength of its’ influence)

I was talking about people sticking to ToL

( ToL is ToL in terms of balanced. aka kinda but really only because of the playerbase )

ToL is swingy but it’s Ok Cuz it takes half hour max

(which is something we can’t really aim for with FoL because of the longer form neutralising it more often)
